Description

Kaafi Tappa is a unique and the most difficult form of singing or playing in Indian Music. Essentially a camel driver’s song, a Tappa has a rolling pace echoing the back and forth motion of a camel, and an unending chain of complex musical cascades, ascending, descending and mixed. The most amazing thing about a Tappa is the fact that inspite of its rhythmic and melodic complexity, its sweetness and instantaneous appeal is untouched.

Artist's Bio
Hi, I am Jay Thakkar, Indian Classical Flautist, Abstract Painter, Architect. I perform and teach Indian Classical Music on Bansuri (North Indian Bamboo Flute). Apart from being a Solo concert artist, I have released two albums of my music in pure Indian Classical genre under my independent label MUSICABSTRACT. The two albums are "Prahar Pravaah - the eight equal time divisions of the 24 hour cycle" and "Aadi Ragas - Six Primeval Ragas". Currently I am working on two more albums. One covers the Light Classical sub genres of Indian Music and the other deals with experimental raga based music.
